How Message Continuity Works

Downtime Uptime

When your network or email server loses connection, your company's emails are redirected to the Webservio Message Continuity system.
The messages go through the SpamWeeder Premium filtering system and then stored in a Mail Bagging system.
Copies of every message are also sent to mailboxes on an Email Continuity server. Employees can access their emails from anywhere in the world using a web-based email interface, a mobile phone, or a program on their computer, like Outlook or Apple Mail.
When your company is using the Webservio Message Continuity system, emails you send will appear to come from your normal email address, and correspondents will not know the difference.

Webservio's Message Continuity is compatible with any type of mail server and most network configurations. Whether you are using Microsoft Exchange, Sendmail, Postfix, Lotus, or some other mail server platform, messages will be seamlessly forwarded to your mail server from the Message Continuity system.

Message Continuity also works with your existing spam filtering service or on-premise firewall, such as Barraccuda, Sonicwall, or Ironport.

Our Message Continuity service includes SpamWeeder Premium filtering to ensure that blatant spam and emails with viruses do not make it to your employees' email continuity mailboxes. In addition to protecting users' security, filtering messages reduces the amount of space needed and ensures your primary mail server or gateway device is not flooded with an excessive volume of emails upon regaining connectivity.

If you are already using a hosted SaaS solution, you can continue using it in place of or in addition to SpamWeeder Premium. Message Continuity also works with your existing on-premise anti-spam device, such as Barraccuda, Sonicwall, or Ironport.

Emails redirected to Webservio's Message Continuity service pass through SpamWeeder Premium filtering before proceeding to the Message Continuity system. Therefore, even if there was a temporary problem with the Mail Bagging or Email Continuity servers, your emails would still be held by the spam filtering system. Customizable to Fit the Way You Work

A "mini-archive" option allows you to have a set timeframe of email history available to reference recent messages as needed. Email continuity users can also import their contact list in vCard format to make using their temporary mailbox a seamless experience.

Message Continuity Features

Automatic Failover

The four Message Continuity gateway hostnames are added to your existing MX records so that failover happens automatically whenever your mail server is unavailable.

Automatic Recovery

Webservio's Message Continuity service will automatically make delivery attempts to the primary mail server on a predetermined schedule. Your mail server will receive a full message history when it comes back online.

Manual Recovery Option

If you would like to ensure emails are sent to your primary mail server as soon as it comes back online, plans with control panel access allow you to override the automatic delivery cycle by triggering a flush of the mail queue.

System Redundancy

Webservio's SpamWeeder Premium filtering service acts as the gateway for the Message Continuity system. It has four nodes in two different locations for 99.99% uptime.

Access Email from Anywhere

Employees can access the Message Continuity service from anywhere in the world and on multiple devices, including cell phones and tablets. Methods of access include the webmail online portal, POP3 and IMAP.

Administrative Control Panel

Administrators have access to the online Message Continuity portal to add or delete email continuity users. Many plans also provide access to the mail bagging control panel to view held messages and flush them for delivery to the primary mail server.
